A Bike Rack for Any Car
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I purchased this bike rack about a month ago and I absolutely love it! I own a Volkswagen Beetle and it safely secures to the back with no problem. I installed it within minutes and I'm able to remove it easily whenever I need to. I would highly recommend this bike rack to everyone - no matter what type of vehicle you drive! The legs of the bike rack adjust to fit the shape of your vehicle, and then it is secured with 6 labeled straps for the top, side, and bottom of your trunk.

So far so good
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Was really easy to install, my car in particular though the two legs that hit the back of the trunk totally cover my license plate. Haven't been pulled over yet though! The straps that hold the bike are not so easy to undo I wish they were more flexible and the the straps on the side dont even come close to working on my bike. I have to use a bungee to keep the bike from swaying on the rack. other then that it serves its purpose quite well.

The Best Bike Rack Ever !!!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This bike rack is the most adaptable bike rack ever. There infinite possibilities of adjustment to fit your car truck or van.

Easy for a bike novice to use
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I bought this rack about a month ago at the same time I bought the first bike I've owned since I was about 13 years old. I am new to cycling and owning any bike equipment. This rack was recommended by the bike store where I got my bike, but I ended up waiting and ordering it from amazon (which came quickly and in great shape).

My husband helped me initially set it up for my car which took probably about 20-30 minutes, but since then it has been quick to use. It takes me just about 5 minutes to get it hooked up to my car now, which I do by myself, and then another minute to put on the bike which is really quick. I do have a hard time with one of the straps that goes around the bike frame because it seems the clip is in an awkward position, but I have picked up on tilting the bike a certain way which makes it a lot easier to unbuckle. Now that I have that down I find that the bike is incredibly easy-on, easy-off, which is key because if it were a hassle, I would be incredibly unmotivated to take my bike out of my neighborhood.

Having never used a bike rack before in my life, I was definitely nervous the first time I put my bike on and drove away, even though everything felt incredibly sturdy - but it has been great and doesn't seem to move at all when I'm driving. I feel that my bike is safe there while I'm driving.

I also really like that this rack will work for my small Acura and my husband's SUV.

Best Bike Rack
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought mine in the 90's. Used it extensively. Have put two bikes on and it holds well. After all these years, no complaints.
I like the recommended review. I voted for it.
I want to add. On the pros:
Simple to install and remove: I can mount mine in under a minute. This has outlasted three cars, so it doesn't make a difference what kind of car you have.
Hint; use a felt tip permanant marker to line up your settings on the arm adjustment. You can fold it down flat when not in use and easily find the right angles for your setup.
Designed for All Weather use: Have used it year round and left it on my car in all kinds of weather. Very durable.
Lifetime Warranty:
The ratchet buckle on mine broke. I was not applying much tension while I was attaching it to my car. The metal used back then was a cast aluminum alloy, unlike the very strong stamped steel parts that are used now. I checked out the website and learned about the lifetime warranty. You have to have a receipt. I don't. I called their customer support to see about buying a new set of straps. They honored the warrenty without any proof and shipped me a new set of straps for free!
The lifetime warranty is for real.
He left out that it makes a great bicycle repair stand if you don't have one.
cons:
Front tire is allowed limited movement: Solution is a bungie cord.
Does not secure to the auto in a way that can deter theft: I use a long steel rope with plastic sheathing and the small ends made it possible to push it through the central tube. This can then be attached to a bumper, luggage rack or other structural part of the car. The one in the rack doesnt have to reach, just use another steel rope or chain. Once the rack is locked to the car, the bicycle can then be locked to the rack using a wire rope or chain.
I know, these are workarounds and not included, but just check out the price. It is puny because these added features are left up to the customer to add in a way that is appropriate for their situation.
As far as the plastic screws that other reviewers complained about: those are not meant to be torqued down hard. They simply snug up the plastic arms to the aluminum tube. The plastic slots are in the aluminum slots so no rotation will occur. The screws are to limit the axial movement. That rarely happens. I have forgotten to tighten a screw without any problems. They are almost unnecessary, but give a little peace of mind. Just snug them up enough to keep the arms from sliding up and down the tube.

Works perfectly for my 2008 MINI Cooper S
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I am very impressed by this product! I got it to carry my road bike around and it is very easy to take on and off when not needed. Takes maybe 5 minutes tops to install once you figure it out. Maybe 1 minute to uninstall.

The hooks fit well all over the hatchback door and I don't need any extra accessories to make the bike rack work. I'm able to put a women's bike and mountain bike, both with angled top tubes, on the rack comfortably. There is nothing to prevent the front wheels from turning so you'll need at least one bungee cord for the bike that's closest to the car.

I imagine that this will fit any MINI Cooper from 2002 and on, with the top arm touching the rear windshield glass. I keep a towel on each of the lower arms so they won't scratch the paint but I'm not sure if it's necessary. Be careful though, you cannot open the MINI hatch with the bike rack on! The two hooks near the top hinge of the hatch door will get pinched and you will damage your car.

The only downside of this rack is that it looks nice and I feel like I need to lock it to my spoiler in case of theft. Otherwise, it's a very solid product and worth the extra money.

Saris Bones 805 2-Bike trunk mount rack.
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
For a thumbs only user of products, this bike rack was very easy to use. My son put it on my Subaru Forester first and I watched, then did it myself. 100% success. On subsequent uses, no problems. It was also easy to lift my bike onto the holders. Not a "fiddly" product, plain and easy for a 66 year old first time user. Now I can take my bike to pretty places, (like the bike path by the Sandy Hook Bay in New Jersey), instead of just my neighborhood. This bike rack has given me freedom!

Gets the job done
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
Purchased this rack after much research, been using it for a year so far to get my bikes around. The screws that hold the arms in place once adjusted are made of a really cheap soft plastic and stripped out within the first month. The arms are also too thick to fit inside of the frame of my GT Force, I had to buy a seperate bar that connects stem to seatpost to make it fit on this. So check you full suspension to see if it will have room for these support bars before buying. Upgraded to a Thule metal rack recently.

Great rack!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I was skeptical at first, but once I got it out of the box (well, once I actually looked at the directions), this was VERY easy to put onto my car. I have a Honda with no spoiler, and it fits great - got it good and tight, and it carries my two bikes with absolutely no issues and looks way better than most bike racks I see in this town!
